GUIDED HIKE AT THE LEON LEVY PRESERVE MARCH 2013
Naturalist Jim Nordgren of JN Land Trust Services and Paul Lewis led more than 60 people on a great hike at the Leon Levy Preserve! The large crowd enjoyed soaking up the sun after a recent snow storm. Bobbe Stultz offered some interesting history of ...the Black Mansion and Paul Lewis spoke about the importance of vernal pools. The Red Maple trees and the Spice Bush shrubs are about to bloom, the Skunk Cabbage is flowering, and the Red-winged Blackbirds are back! Looks like we made it through another winter.

"THE WILDFLOWERS OF MAY" Guided walk at Old Field Preserve May 2013
Naturalist Jim Nordgren of JN Land Trust Services led a guided walk at Old Field Preserve to teach us about the wildflowers of May. 19 people braved the steady downpour and saw flowering dogwoods, wild geraniums, shinleaf, spireas, Canada mayflower, Indian strawberry, dwarf cinquefoil and trout lillies to name a few. Unfortunately the picnic that was to follow got rained out!
